I took the 10.30 bus from Dubrovnik to Kotor and I was going to be one night there and then return to Dubronik to take the flight to Skopje, but everything changed. First, when I was into the bus waiting the departure, I saw Whitney again! Jaja I couldn’t believe, she was also going to Kotor with the same bus, was incredible, she was in Dubrovnik like me but we didn’t met in the city because she arrived the day after me and we slept in different hostels. But the thing was that we met again, was the destination jeje, so we went together to Kotor.
Once in the Kotor bus station, it was a taxi driver offering us cheap places to sleep, we took that option and we went together. The family that gave us one of their free departments was incredible warm, the offered us homemade liqueurs and coffee and all kind of help in what we needed. We have been talking for a lot of time exchanging experiences and they told us about the Montenegro culture, etc. They also found a bus to Skopje (Macedonia) from Montenegro, so I finally didn’t went to Dubrovnik for taking the flight, I found a cheaper solution.
After leaving our staffs and talk with the family we went to Perast, other very old coastal city, that has two islands which have a church in each one. In Perast we had lunch and then we started meeting every place, and when the sun was going down we returned to Kotor, we saw the old town in the night and then we returned to the house again.
During the other day, we climbed the San Giovanni mount, which is below the walled city, from there, we could have a panoramic vision of the old walled town and the coast. After returning from the mount, Whitney took different way than me, she went to Bar (Montenegro´s coast) and I took a bus to Podgorica (Montenegro´s capital city)
Highlights of the trip:
- We found a very beautiful place, small towns, port environment.
- Very warm people, very helpfully
- The family were we went to sleep was incredible, I´m so happy for meeting them
