I took 12.30 bus from Mostar to Dubrovnik, the trip was around 2,5 hours but my arrival was not the best… it was supposed that people from the Dubrovnik hostel was going to wait for me in the bus station, but nobody was there. Nevertheless once I picked up my stuffs from the bus, a lot of people started offering me places and cheap hostels to sleep, and 4 different people started making me questions all at the same time and fighting between them because everybody wanted me to go to their places. I finally took the option of an old Croatian woman and her also crazy sister jaja, was the cheaper option and her house was in front of the bus station. The place was almost new.
After leaving my luggage, I went to have lunch and then walked by the old walled town, but it was almost 5 in the afternoon and the sun started going down, so I couldn’t see a lot during the night but I had to do it, because It was supposed that I was going to be only one day because the other day in the morning I was going to take the only bus to Kotor (Montenegro) for after taking a bus to Belgrade, because in fact I was travelling in south direction because I was going to Macedonia to meet my friends, but in winter season the buses are no so frequent and in Dubrovnik (Croatia) they didn’t have info about Montenegro`s frequency. The travel from Dubrovnik- Kotor-Belgrade was going to be like 24 hours or more, because from Belgrade I had to go Skopje that are like 7 hours more… I was going to die because I was a bit tired of travelling I needed to stop. But the other day 2 hours before doing that crazy trip I said “I have to find a better solution” and well.. I found it, it was a flight from Dubrovnik to Skopje passing by Zagreb. The trip was going to be only 6 hours, so earned 2 free days for resting. I used my first day for walking by the old town during the day, meeting the different fortresses and the beaches. The other day I used to go Montenegro.
In resume the most important highlights are the following:
- The trip between Mostar and Dubrovnik is totally incredible, was one of the most beautiful outlooks if my life, the bus rode by the coast the hole time and I could see the Adriatic sea with its incredible emerald color and I saw all that incredible islands close to the coast.
- Dubrovnik is a very beautiful city, specially because of the old town and the beaches
- Is a so commercial city, I didn’t like that and the people wasn’t very kind
